About
Sage Matthews
Sage is a mother, artist, builder, yoga teacher, end-of-life doula, chaplain, and podcaster. She believes embodied connection with ourselves, with each other, and with nature creates ease and belonging. She offers somatic practices to others who feel disconnected from their bodies and are finding their way home to themselves. She feels that the practice of contemplating our own impermanence can lead to a more fully-lived life.
She holds a BFA in Fashion Design, a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification, an End-of-Life Doula Certification, and is an Ordained Chaplain. She spent 20 years in the fashion industry, specializing in denim and sustainability, taught yoga internationally, and serves clients globally with her end-of-life-work, including conscious grief support with surviving loved ones. She volunteers these services through the Living/Dying Project founded by Ram Dass, Stephen Levine, and Ram Dev Dale Borglum.
Having walked alongside her son through a decade of incarceration, she leads with deep listening, respect, and a belief in the power of shared stories. Her podcast "That's Passion" interviews people about what inspires them to create boundlessly. She supports spiritual community through her work as a prison penpal with the Human Kindness Foundation, and is a facilitator with On The Inside, an organization that serves incarcerated women through creativity and somatic movement.
